Crossmint Completes Full-Stack EU Regulatory Stack with PSD2 Authorization
Crossmint has achieved significant milestones in its regulatory journey by securing Payment Institution (PI) authorization from the Bank of Spain under the EU's Payment Services Directive (PSD2). This follows their earlier MiCA class 2 authorization, which granted them permission to operate as a crypto-asset service provider across the EU.
The combined authorizations provide Crossmint with full-stack regulatory coverage for its stablecoin custodial wallets and transfer infrastructure. This means that clients can hold and move stablecoins seamlessly, without needing to assemble a patchwork of separately licensed vendors.
Crossmint's mission is to build practical infrastructure that allows enterprise fintechs to quickly adopt stablecoin rails and transform how money moves globally. Rodri Fernández Touza, Co-Founder of Crossmint, stated, 'Doing that well in the EEA means operating under the full regulatory stack. This authorization completes a foundational part of it.'
