Cardano ADA Holders Reject Summit Funding Proposal

Cardano's recent use of on-chain governance has come to fruition in a significant way. A proposal to fund the Cardano Summit 2026 in Singapore, which would have cost approximately $2 million, was rejected by ADA holders. This decision was made through Intersect, the member-based organization managing Cardano's governance processes.

The proposal aimed to host a high-visibility ecosystem event, similar to those funded by other blockchain projects without hesitation. However, opponents of the summit argued that the return on investment for the broader Cardano ecosystem was not clearly demonstrated. They also pointed out that directing treasury funds toward core technical development rather than marketing showcases would be a more prudent approach.
