Circle Arc Blockchain Network Enters Public Test Phase
Circle has announced the launch of the public testnet for its Layer-1 blockchain network, Arc. The testnet includes participation from over 100 companies, including major players in the finance and technology industries.
The testnet is designed to enable developers to test new features without risking the security of the live mainnet. This allows Circle to gather feedback and refine the platform before its official launch. Some notable participants include BlackRock, Visa, Goldman Sachs, AWS, and major crypto exchanges like Coinbase and Kraken.
Circle's Arc platform aims to support financial applications with predictable fees and sub-second transaction finality. The network is designed as an 'Economic Operating System' for the internet, with optional privacy configurations. Circle plans to transition the network toward distributed governance in the long term, expanding validator participation and establishing community-driven governance frameworks.
