RUSI Report Highlights Importance of Collaboration in Cryptocurrency Privacy
A recent report by the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) has shed light on the complexities surrounding privacy-enhancing technologies in the cryptocurrency sector.
The paper, titled 'Privacy-Enhancing Technologies in the Crypto Industry,' highlights several legitimate uses of blockchain-based privacy tools, including company confidentiality and protection against hacking attempts known as '$5 wrench attacks.'
Around 41 million dollars was lost to these attacks in 2025 alone.
The report emphasizes that banning such technologies would not prevent illicit activity but rather make it harder for law enforcement to detect.
Instead, the roundtable participants stress the need for collaboration between developers and officials to ensure that privacy solutions integrate compliance features.
