Morgan Stanley Expands into Digital Assets with ETF Filings
Morgan Stanley has taken a significant step in its foray into the digital asset ecosystem by filing applications to list exchange-traded funds (ETFs) on Ethereum and Solana. This move is part of the bank's broader strategy to leverage blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies.
The bank's plans include developing tokenized money market funds, which would allow investors to hold cash deposits in a digital format, attracting billions of dollars in liquidity from traditional markets. Morgan Stanley is also exploring the use of cryptocurrency for income tax offsetting and has begun researching profit-generating services and direct mortgage lending in Bitcoin.
