Team Tackles Oil Counterfeiting with Blockchain-Backed Tokens
The Energy Substantiation team, comprising Wil Harris, Lucas Harris, Chris Ericksen, and Katie Oates, is working on a project to put a barrel of oil on blockchain. The team's push for crude-backed digital tokens aims to create a more efficient and transparent system for tracking the ownership and movement of oil.
In an effort to combat counterfeiting and improve supply chain management, the team has been researching ways to integrate blockchain technology with the existing petroleum infrastructure.
According to Bloomberg, the Energy Substantiation team is based in Larkspur, California, and has been working on this project for some time. The goal of their efforts is to create a digital token that represents a physical barrel of oil, allowing for easier tracking and verification of ownership.
