World Cup 2026 Revenue Projected to Hit $8.9 Billion

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is on track to break records as the most profitable tournament in football history, with projected revenues between $8.9 billion and $10.9 billion.

This represents a significant increase of around 53-56% over the 2022 Qatar edition, which had revenues of roughly $5.7-6.4 billion.

The growth in revenue is driven by broadcasting rights, which are expected to exceed $4.2 billion alone, and increased payout pools for teams.

FIFA has also made significant strides in incorporating blockchain technology into the tournament, with crypto exchange Kraken named as the first official supporter in June 2026.
