A secret operation aimed at taking control of hundreds of cryptocurrency machines has ended in disaster for a group of Australian fraudsters.
The plan, which involved secretly minting millions of cryptocurrency, has backfired spectacularly, leaving the perpetrators facing a hefty $20m bill and a criminal probe.
