Coinbase Unveils SEC-Registered AI Investment Adviser with Tokenized Stocks and Options Trading

Coinbase has launched Coinbase Advisor, an AI-powered investment adviser registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The feature is part of the company's 'System Update' announced on June 16 and is being rolled out to U.S. members.

The AI advisor can perform tasks such as tax-loss harvesting and multi-asset trade recommendations, according to Coinbase. It handles complex analytical tasks so users can optimize their wealth-building strategies with ease.

Coinbase's System Update also included the launch of tokenized stocks for non-U.S. customers, options trading for crypto and stocks, portfolio transfers into Coinbase, new derivatives including thematic and pre-IPO perpetual futures, and a separate service called Coinbase for Agents that allows AI agents to trade and pay on users' behalf.
