Cryptocurrency Market Volatility Surges Amid $500M in Liquidations
The cryptocurrency market is showing signs of increased short-term volatility, with a significant spike in total liquidations over the past 24 hours. According to CoinGlass data, a total of $516 million has been liquidated, with $224 million in long liquidations and $291 million in short liquidations.
Bitcoin's price has retreated to around $80,900, but it is still holding above the $80,000 mark. Despite this, momentum remains constructive, with a positive Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) reading reinforcing the upward tone.
Toncoin and Near Protocol are standing out as top performers, with double-digit gains over the last 24 hours. Toncoin has broken above its key moving averages and is showing extreme momentum, while Near Protocol has extended its rebound above the 50-day and 100-day EMAs.
