Hayes Places $2.2M Bet on SYN Token as Hypercall Challenge Heats Up
Arthur Hayes, co-founder of BitMEX and well-known crypto personality, has made headlines for his various predictions and bets on the market. Recently, he placed a $2.2 million bet in favor of Hypercall's Deribit Challenge, backing the SYN token with this significant amount.
This is not the first time Hayes has made a notable prediction or wager; earlier in the year, he issued a charity bet where he would donate $100,000 if HYPE outperformed every top-10 coin by the end of the year. He also exited his positions in HYPE and NEAR due to various market factors.
In addition, Hayes has been vocal about his opinions on the crypto market, stating that most tokens sink because protocol revenue does not reach holders, leaving prices exposed to unlocks, VC selling, and weak demand. This view is reflected in his backing of Hyperliquid's HYPE token, which he believes stands out from other assets due to its unique characteristics.
