Grantham Predicts Bitcoin Will Go to Zero, Crypto Analyst Slams Comment as 'Stupid'

Billionaire investor Jeremy Grantham has sparked controversy in the cryptocurrency community after making a prediction that Bitcoin will 'certainly' go to zero. Speaking on the 'The Diary Of A CEO' podcast, Grantham stated that while it may take a long time, he believes Bitcoin's value will eventually reach zero.

Granitham, who is renowned for accurately calling major asset bubbles, including the dot-com mania of the late 1990s and the 2008 global housing and financial crisis, described cryptocurrencies as an 'unnecessary piece of nonsense' that 'facilitates nothing except criminals moving money so they can't be seen.'

He also stated that he has never owned any cryptocurrency and would not recommend anyone buy it. This is not the first time a prominent figure has made negative comments about Bitcoin, with 475 obituaries tracked by the website Bitcoindeaths.com.

Cryptocurrency analyst Michaël van de Poppe responded to Grantham's comment, calling it 'stupid' and noting that many great investors have failed to grasp Bitcoin's fundamentals and purpose. Van de Poppe stated that such statements sound 'ridiculous' coming from a 'great investor.'
