Trump's Crypto Ethics Deal Clears Last Major Hurdle for CLARITY Act
President Donald Trump has reportedly agreed to include crypto ethics provisions in the CLARITY Act, clearing a key hurdle for the bill's passage. The agreement was reached between the White House and Republican Senators Cynthia Lummis and Bernie Moreno. This development is seen as crucial in securing Democratic support for the bill.
The CLARITY Act aims to provide a legal framework for the crypto industry in the US, but its progress has been hindered by various issues, including stablecoin yield fights and developer protection concerns. However, with the ethics provision reportedly included in the bill, Republicans may be able to secure 7-10 Democratic votes needed to reach the 60-vote threshold.
Crypto platform SoSoValue believes that this development could unlock Democratic support for the bill. White House crypto advisor Patrick Witt has also expressed his commitment to pushing for the bill's progress, deferring his mandatory military training to continue working on the legislation.
