Bitcoin Falters Near $66K Amid Iran Peace Agreement
Bitcoin's price hesitated near $66K on Tuesday as traditional markets surged on news of the Iran peace agreement.
The leading cryptocurrency briefly touched $67,000 before retreating to levels just under $66,000, reflecting market hesitation regarding the negotiations.
Alternative cryptocurrencies such as Ether, Solana, and XRP posted stronger gains than Bitcoin, with Ether climbing 2.8% to reach $1,764 and Solana advancing 3.2% to $73.
The muted reaction from digital assets stands in stark contrast to the substantial rallies in traditional equity markets, with the S&P 500 up 1.7% and Nasdaq 100 climbing 3.1%, following the announcement of a U.S.-Iran peace agreement.
