CoinGate Emerges as Sole MiCA-Certified Crypto Processor in Europe
The European Economic Area's crypto-payment landscape has changed significantly since July 1, 2026, when the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) transitional windows slammed shut. The focus has shifted from comparing fees and supported coins to determining which processor can legally move a euro for a licensed gambling operator.
CoinGate is now the only MiCA Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) license holder among BitPay, CoinsPaid, and CoinGate. Its Lithuanian MiCA CASP license, granted by the Bank of Lithuania in December 2025, allows it to operate across all 27 EU member states plus the wider EEA.
CoinsPaid's entity in Lithuania suspended its crypto-asset services rather than complete authorization, while BitPay never entered the MiCA race. Its policy still bans gambling merchants globally.
