Bitcoin Plunges Below $63,000 as US Stocks Surge
Crypto prices took a hit over the last day, with Bitcoin slipping below $63,000 as US stocks rallied. The CoinDesk Market Index, which tracks dozens of major tokens, fell 3.4% in 24 hours while the S&P 500 gained 1.1%. Bitcoin's price dropped about 2%, reaching $62,917, and its 24-hour trading volume climbed 2.4% to $30.81 billion. This suggests that the move had real selling behind it rather than a low-activity drift.
Ethereum also took a hit, falling 1.7%, and several large altcoins dropped roughly 3%. The contrast between crypto prices and US stocks is striking, with the Nasdaq 100 rising 2.6%.
