NOBLE Backs CLARITY Act, Bringing Major Police Group Support to Crypto Legislation

The National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) has become the first major police group in the US to endorse crypto-specific legislation, specifically the Digital Asset Market CLARITY Act. In a letter dated July 1, NOBLE threw its weight behind the bill, which aims to provide clearer lines around digital asset classification and oversight.

The Clarity Act has already passed the House with bipartisan support and cleared the Senate Banking Committee, putting it further along than most crypto bills ever get. At its core, the bill tries to solve a problem that has plagued the industry for years: nobody knows which agency regulates what.

NOBLE's President Reneé Hall emphasized in her endorsement that the act 'presents critical capabilities for law enforcement while maintaining existing criminal enforcement powers.' This is a significant development, as NOBLE's endorsement serves as political cover for senators who might otherwise hesitate to vote yes on the bill.
