Strategy Pauses Bitcoin Buying, Raises Cash Reserves Through Stock Sales
Strategy Inc., the world's largest corporate holder of Bitcoin (BTC), has paused its massive crypto bet for two consecutive weeks. The company raised hundreds of millions of dollars through stock sales to bolster its cash reserves.
In its latest Form 8-K filing, Strategy disclosed that it made no BTC purchases or sales during the week of July 13-19, 2026. Its treasury holdings remain at 843,775 BTC, with an aggregate purchase price of $63.69 billion and an average acquisition cost of $75,476 per BTC.
Instead of selling BTC, Strategy turned to equity markets for additional capital. The company sold 2.73 million shares of Class A common stock through its at-the-market (ATM) offering program during the week, generating $263.5 million in net proceeds.
