Solana Network Prepares for Quantum Computing Threats with Phased Migration Plan

The Solana Foundation has announced its plan to address potential quantum computing threats by transitioning its network to quantum-resistant cryptography. This phased approach prioritizes wallets as the primary upgrade layer, allowing for a staged migration to minimize disruption to the network.

According to the foundation, research and testing of Falcon signatures will be the first step in this process. If quantum computing becomes a credible threat, the next phase would involve introducing quantum-resistant cryptography for new wallets, followed by a full migration of existing wallets if necessary.
