Russia Passes Digital Currency Law, Paving Way for Cryptocurrency Investment
The Russian State Duma has made a significant move in the world of cryptocurrency by passing the law 'On Digital Currency and Digital Rights' in both its second and third readings. This legislation recognizes digital currencies as property, establishes general rules for their circulation, and provides legal protection for rights to them.
This means that once enacted, Russians will be able to invest in cryptocurrencies through Russian exchanges, brokers, and trust managers. The law must still be approved by the Federation Council and signed by the president before it takes effect.
