Elizabeth Warren Questions MrBeast on Fintech App's Cryptocurrency Plans

Senator Elizabeth Warren has reached out to popular YouTuber MrBeast (Jimmy Donaldson) and his company Beast Industries over concerns about the potential promotion of cryptocurrency to minors through their fintech app Step.

In a 12-page letter sent last month, Warren requested clarity on several issues, including compliance with regulations, marketing practices, and safeguards for young users. A key focus of her inquiry is whether Beast Industries could promote cryptocurrency to minors, particularly in light of previous plans by the company's app Step to allow teens to buy and hold crypto with parental oversight.

Warren's letter also referenced MrBeast's own investments in cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and NFTs, which have delivered significant returns. A spokesperson for Beast Industries responded to Warren's concerns, stating that the company's primary motivation is to 'improve the financial future of the next generation' and that they are reviewing their offerings to ensure compliance.
