Korea's Hana Financial Group Expands Stablecoin Cooperation with Standard Chartered
Hana Financial Group and Standard Chartered have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to deepen their collaboration on global banking services and digital asset initiatives.
The MOU, which was signed on March 13 at Hana Bank's headquarters in Seoul, outlines cooperation across traditional financial services and new blockchain-based initiatives. The partnership will explore opportunities in investment banking, capital markets, treasury operations, and foreign exchange, as well as digital assets such as stablecoins, blockchain infrastructure, custody services, and broader token ecosystems.
Executives from both groups emphasized the benefits of combining Hana's strong domestic banking presence with Standard Chartered's global network and existing digital asset initiatives. They highlighted the potential for identifying new growth areas as financial markets increasingly integrate blockchain technologies.
