Ripple Gets Green Light on Luxembourg CASP License

Ripple has secured a preliminary Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP) license in Luxembourg. This is a significant step towards full compliance under the EU's Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) framework.

The CASP license, which comes in the form of a 'Green Light Letter' from Luxembourg's Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF), is subject to final conditions but covers the entire 30-country European Economic Area (EEA).

This opens up Ripple Payments to a regional rollout for the first time. The CASP license works alongside an existing EU Electronic Money Institution (EMI) licence, giving European banks, fintechs, and corporates access to Ripple's full cryptoasset and stablecoin payments infrastructure.
