A coordinated effort by law enforcement agencies worldwide has led to the disruption of a massive crypto fraud network, with authorities successfully halting illicit flows exceeding $45 million.
Operation Atlantic, which involved agencies from the US, UK, and Canada, targeted large-scale phishing and investment scams. The operation resulted in the shutdown of over 120 domains used in phishing campaigns, effectively disrupting active fraud pipelines.
The exposure also revealed a wide cluster of fraudulent activity, with investigators mapping out more than 20,000 wallet addresses tied to scams across multiple jurisdictions.
While crypto-related losses have seen a decline in recent years, authorities warn that new scam methods are emerging, using leaked personal data and physical mail attacks. Users are advised to remain cautious and verify all communications linked to wallet security.
