CLARITY Act Advances After Law Enforcement Shifts Stance
The CLARITY Act has made significant progress in the US legislative process after key law enforcement organizations shifted from opposition to neutral positions.
This shift reduces legislative friction as lawmakers continue refining the US digital asset regulatory framework.
Several national law enforcement organizations, including the NDAA, NAAUSA, IACP, and National Sheriffs' Association, have reportedly moved from opposition to a neutral stance on the CLARITY Act's DeFi provision.
The Major County Sheriffs of America issued a formal letter to Senate Banking Committee Chairman Tim Scott and Ranking Member Elizabeth Warren, stating that they no longer opposed the legislation but instead adopted a neutral position after additional review and discussions surrounding implementation.
