Grinex Exchange Blames Western Agencies for $13m Theft Amid Controversy

A cryptocurrency exchange in Kyrgyzstan, Grinex, has been targeted in a cyber-attack resulting in the theft of $13.2 million from Russian customers. The exchange, which was previously sanctioned for enabling money laundering and illegal transactions, has claimed that Western intelligence agencies were responsible for the attack.

Grinex stated that only these actors would have had the 'unprecedented level of resources and technology' to carry out the raid, which it claims was done to harm Russia's financial sovereignty. The exchange has suspended operations following the attack and has filed a criminal complaint with law enforcers.
