Azteca Stadium Unveils $300M Makeover as Kraken Partners with FIFA

The iconic Estadio Azteca has undergone a massive $300 million renovation in time for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which kicks off on June 11. The stadium will host its third World Cup opening match, a record for any venue.

The renovation increased seating capacity from around 83,000 to approximately 87,500 to 90,000 spectators. New LED video boards, upgraded lighting and sound systems, fresh locker rooms, and modernized seating were part of the overhaul.

FIFA has partnered with Kraken, a leading crypto exchange, as its Official Crypto Exchange Supporter for the tournament. This high-profile deal is one of the largest sports sponsorships a crypto exchange has landed in recent memory.
