Mississippi Enacts Law to Combat Cryptocurrency Kiosk Scams

A new law has been enacted in Mississippi to safeguard consumers from cryptocurrency kiosk scams, a growing concern for older adults.

The legislation, which took effect on July 1, establishes comprehensive regulations for virtual currency kiosks, including licensing and oversight requirements, mandatory consumer disclosures and fraud warnings, transaction receipts, and improved traceability.

The law aims to reduce the risk of financial exploitation and improve transparency in the cryptocurrency industry. By setting daily transaction limits and enhancing enforcement, the measure seeks to prevent irreversible losses associated with crypto kiosk fraud.
