BlackRock Drives Crypto ETF Boom with Record $33M Inflows
Crypto exchange-traded funds (ETFs) saw significant inflows on June 16, marking a positive turn for the industry. Bitcoin and Ether ETFs led the charge, with $10.06 million and $9.59 million respectively added to their coffers. BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust IBIT was the top performer in the Bitcoin space, bringing in $16.35 million.
The inflows were a welcome change from weeks of mixed flows, which saw some products experience outflows. The sector-wide improvement in demand suggests that investors are becoming increasingly interested in digital assets. This trend is reflected in the growing total net assets of crypto ETFs, with Bitcoin's reaching $82.06 billion and Ether's standing at $9.89 billion.
BlackRock has been instrumental in driving this growth, with its iShares Bitcoin Premium Income ETF BITA generating premium income alongside Bitcoin exposure through an options strategy. The fund's launch follows a period of sustained interest in Bitcoin and other digital assets. As the crypto market continues to mature, it is likely that we will see more innovative products like BITA emerge.
