Graham, a Republican from South Carolina, had been advocating for clear regulations surrounding cryptocurrencies. Trump's request comes just over a year after Graham's passing on April 14, 2025.

In his call to action, Trump emphasized the importance of not letting China 'win' in terms of cryptocurrency adoption and regulation.
