Ripple CTO Warns of Surge in XRP Giveaway Scams on Social Media

Ripple's Chief Technology Officer (CTO), David Schwartz, has issued a warning to the XRP community about a significant increase in giveaway scams on social media platforms.

Schwarz cautioned users to be extremely cautious of fake accounts impersonating him and his colleagues, particularly on Instagram and Telegram. He stated that anyone claiming to represent him on these channels is likely a scammer.

The warning comes amid concerns over phishing attacks and crypto campaigns targeting retail investors. The XRP community has been repeatedly targeted by scammers in the past, who use fake social media accounts, deepfake videos, and other tactics to trick users into sending their cryptocurrency or clicking on malicious links.
