New Hampshire Senate Takes Aim at Cryptocurrency Scam Relief

The increasing prevalence of cryptocurrency-related fraud in New Hampshire has prompted lawmakers to take action. A bipartisan bill that recently cleared the Senate aims to provide relief to victims who fall prey to scams at ATMs.

The proposed legislation would enforce new regulations on cryptocurrency ATM operators, including holding a victim's first deposit for 48 hours and limiting individual daily transactions to $2,000. Additionally, it would mandate refunds for scam victims who report fraud within a 14-day window.
