Emirates Prepares for Crypto Payments on Flights by 2026
The Dubai-based carrier Emirates is set to become one of the world's largest airlines to accept cryptocurrency payments for flights and related services by 2026. The airline has partnered with Crypto.com, a leading digital asset exchange, to integrate its payment system into Emirates' infrastructure.
The partnership will allow customers to pay for flights using over 30 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Cronos (CRO), USD Coin (USDC), and Tether (USDT). This move is seen as a major step towards mainstream digital asset adoption in the aviation industry.
The Emirates-Crypto.com partnership is part of Dubai's broader strategy to establish itself as a global leader in digital finance, blockchain development, and cryptocurrency innovation. The initiative aligns with Dubai's vision of remaining at the forefront of financial innovation and technological advancement.
