Crypto ATMs Reach Record Numbers Amidst Market Decline

The number of crypto automated teller machines (ATMs) worldwide has reached a milestone, with a total of 38,928 active machines tracked by Coin ATM Radar as of March 29, 2026. This figure represents a significant decline from previous counts, with the removal of 769 machines resulting in a net loss of 597 units this year.

The majority of these installations are found in North America, particularly in the US, which accounts for over three-quarters (77.7%) of the global total with 30,247 machines. The top ten global operators collectively oversee 30,450 machines, representing 78.2% of the total.

The industry's leading provider is Bitcoin Depot, operating a commanding 9,246 machines (23.8% market share). Other notable players include Coinflip with 5,493 machines (14.1%), Athena Bitcoin with 4,045 machines (10.4%), and Rockitcoin with 2,757 machines (7.1%).

The crypto ATM tracking site also reveals that nearly all machines offer support for buying cryptocurrencies, while a smaller portion facilitate both buying and selling.
