Solana's Market Cap Erosion Sparks Tokenomics Debate
Solana's market capitalization has been declining steadily over the past few months, dropping by $40 billion since October 2025. This trend is in stark contrast to Hyperliquid, which has seen its market cap double to around $20 billion during the same period.
Analysts have pointed out that this shift in momentum could be a sign of a deeper change in market positioning. With Hyperliquid's strong performance and increasing popularity, it's possible that investors are rotating their capital into newer altcoins like HYPE, draining liquidity from established names like Solana.
The tokenomics changes proposed by Solana developers aim to address the pressure building underneath the asset. If implemented, these changes could increase daily SOL burn from 648 SOL to between 10.8k and 64.8k SOL.
