Bitcoin Dominance Surpasses 60% Amid Shift in Market Structure
Bitcoin's dominance in the cryptocurrency market has reached a new milestone, surpassing 60% for the first time this year. According to recent data, Bitcoin's share of the total market capitalization broke above 60% on April 24th and remains steady at around 59.8%. This development is significant, as it indicates that investors are increasingly favoring Bitcoin over altcoins.
The shift in market structure is also reflected in the declining dominance of altcoins, which has dropped to around 16.7%. This suggests that there is limited conviction among investors beyond major assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum. Ethereum's share of the market remains stable at between 10.7% and 12%, but it lacks the strength to challenge Bitcoin's lead.
One of the key indicators of this shift in market structure is the steady share of stablecoins, which has remained unchanged. This suggests that investors are rotating their capital towards Bitcoin rather than exiting risk altogether. As a result, market conditions are shifting, with Bitcoin drawing liquidity while altcoins lose traction.
