ONUS Crypto Exchange Faces Outage, Leaving Millions of Users in Limbo
ONUS, a Singapore-headquartered cryptocurrency exchange, is currently facing a major technical issue that has left millions of users unable to access their accounts.
The platform, which primarily targets Vietnamese investors and was launched in March 2020, began experiencing difficulties on the evening of March 20. Users have reported being unable to log in, with error messages prompting them to check their network connection and login credentials.
The outage has sparked concerns over the safety of user assets, with some investors reporting that they have significant amounts of tokens stored on the platform. One user from Ho Chi Minh City revealed that he had VND200 million (approximately $7,600 USD) worth of tokens on ONUS and was worried about the situation.
The company has a network of thousands of affiliate partners to build community and guide users on asset storage. However, as of Sunday, users completely lost access to the application and their stored digital assets. Some investors reported that the business partners who introduced them to the app deactivated their social media accounts on Saturday night.
The ONUS team has not provided an official statement or explanation for the outage. Attempts to contact founder Eric Vuong and other executives have been unsuccessful. The company's lack of response has fueled speculation among users, with some demanding a swift resolution.
