RLUSD Sees $55.9 Million Burned in June as Ripple Expands Ecosystem
Ripple's stablecoin RLUSD saw significant token burns in June, with $55.9 million worth of tokens removed from circulation over the past seven days. This is a notable increase compared to May, where just $8.8 million was issued during the same period.
The trend began to slow down as the month progressed, but several important announcements surrounding RLUSD have emerged this month. One key development is the integration of Wormhole's Native Token Transfers infrastructure, which enables RLUSD to move natively across multiple blockchain ecosystems.
This move has removed the need for wrapped versions of the asset and has significant implications for cross-border payments, institutional onramps and offramps, and tokenization use cases. Ripple believes that this integration could widen access to compliant, dollar-backed liquidity for developers and institutions operating across various networks.
