Arbitrum Freezes $71M Stolen from KelpDAO Hack
Arbitrum, a popular Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum, quickly responded to a massive hacking incident by freezing assets worth $71.15 million belonging to the hacker. This move demonstrates Arbitrum's ability to provide rapid smart contract security and isolate assets in emergency situations.
The hack occurred through KelpDAO's vulnerable rsETH setup on a single-DVN configuration, which left wrapped ether stranded across 20 chains. The freezing mechanism was triggered just 20 minutes after the incident, highlighting Arbitrum's role in Ethereum scaling.
