FSMA Flags Six Unregistered Crypto Providers in Belgium After MiCA Deadline
Belgium's Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) has flagged six crypto-asset service providers for operating without authorization, just days after the EU's MiCA licensing deadline took effect on July 1.
The FSMA identified Aurum Foundation, Bank Bit, Bithf Pro, Dxago, Global Dynamic Trade, and ZeriaFunding as unregistered CASPs operating in Belgium. The regulator added these entities to its list of fraudulent providers and warned consumers not to engage with them.
FSMA strongly advised users to check the official CASP register before accepting any offers from crypto service providers. The regulator also cautioned that crypto assets can be highly volatile, may have liquidity limitations, and are not covered by a compensation scheme.
The MiCA deadline has been a major pressure point for crypto companies operating in the EU. Binance previously withdrew its MiCA application filed in Greece and planned to seek authorization in another jurisdiction just before the July 1 deadline.
