Adecoagro Diversifies into Bitcoin Mining with Sugarcane Biomass Powered Pilot

Adecoagro has initiated a pilot program for Bitcoin mining in Brazil, leveraging power sourced from sugarcane biomass. The initiative is supported by the company's major shareholder Tether and the Mato Grosso do Sul state government.

The project represents Adecoagro's first venture into cryptocurrency infrastructure, utilizing its existing agricultural assets to generate a new revenue stream. By repurposing sugarcane bagasse as an energy source, the pilot aims to demonstrate the potential for efficient use of renewable energy in crypto mining.
