Africoin Admitted into Ghana's Virtual Asset Regulatory Sandbox
Africoin has been accepted into the Virtual Asset Regulatory Sandbox in Ghana, allowing the company to test its real-world asset tokenization platform. The sandbox is a testing program created by Ghana's Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to allow crypto companies to try out their products before full approval.
The platform converts real-world assets such as commodities, farming products, energy projects, and mining resources into blockchain-based digital tokens. Africoin operates under strict government supervision, with the SEC monitoring its progress over a 12-month period.
The sandbox was introduced after Ghana passed the Virtual Asset Service Providers Act, 2025, which gives legal status to crypto businesses and sets rules for exchanges, payment systems, custody services, and token-based platforms. The program allows regulators to observe how digital financial products behave in real conditions before full market approval.
