Bitcoin Tops $64K Amidst Broader Altcoin Rally and Derivatives Surge
The cryptocurrency market continued its upward trend on Wednesday, with Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) experiencing significant gains. According to TokenPost Market data, BTC was trading at $64,741.80, up 3.54% from the previous day, while ETH rose 5.27% to $1,874.84.
The broader altcoin market also participated in the rally, with major assets such as XRP, BNB, Solana (SOL), Dogecoin (DOGE), and Tron (TRX) all posting gains. Hyperliquid was one of the top performers among top assets, increasing by 5.83%.
Market-wide metrics reinforced the positive tone, with total crypto market capitalization reaching $2.22 trillion and aggregate 24-hour trading volume hitting $72.69 billion. Altcoins accounted for a significant portion of the market value, representing $923.54 billion in market cap and recording $43.16 billion in daily volume.
However, Bitcoin's dominance rose to 58.44%, indicating that fresh capital is still flowing into more liquid 'blue-chip' crypto assets. The derivatives complex also saw a significant surge, with futures and options volume increasing by 45.04% to $918.45 billion.
