MoonPay, a leading provider of crypto payments solutions, has announced the launch of the MoonAgents Card, a virtual debit card designed for AI agents. This innovative product enables autonomous software programs to make purchases using stablecoins at online merchants that accept Mastercard.
The MoonAgents Card uses a partnership with Monavate, a regulated payments infrastructure provider, and Exodus, a self-custody wallet company. Unlike some competing products, the card does not require users to pre-load funds into a custodial account before spending, allowing AI agents to spend directly from an on-chain wallet at the moment of the transaction.
The card is currently available in the UK and Latin America, with expansion planned for the US and European Union in the coming months. Identity verification is required before a card can be issued. MoonPay's developer tools have seen significant momentum, with its command-line interface processing over 4 million tool calls since launch.
