Solana Emerge as Core Infrastructure for Next-Gen Internet Capital Markets
Tiger Research has identified Solana as the core infrastructure for the next generation of internet capital markets (ICM), according to a recent report. The firm notes that global financial institutions, including JPMorgan and Visa, are pursuing Solana-based asset issuance, payment settlement, and pilot projects for tokenized products.
The adoption of institutional pilots and tokenization infrastructure is driving increased usage of the Solana network, which has shown strong technical performance, processing 33 billion transactions last year with an average fee of $0.0013 per transaction and transaction finality of about 0.4 seconds.
Solana's programmable compliance features, including asset freezes and allowlist management, are also a key driver of institutional adoption. The Solana Policy Institute has submitted 'Project Open' to the US Securities and Exchange Commission's crypto task force, which outlines a framework for issuing and trading equities on a public blockchain.
