Crypto Adoption Surges in 2025, Bybit Continues Expansion

Bybit's CEO Ben Zhou discussed the growth of crypto adoption in 2025, citing a 16% increase in global crypto owners. This brings the total number of crypto owners to 8.7%, according to data presented by Zhou.

The trend was also visible in traditional finance (TradFi), with the number of TradFi firms onboarding crypto doubling in 2025. Stablecoins were heavily used for payments, settling double the volume of major traditional payment networks over 12 months.

Bybit's expansion into new markets has been facilitated by regulatory compliance, with the company obtaining a MiCA license from Austria in May 2025. Bybit currently serves around 82 million users across 181 countries and regions.
