Cardano Leaps Over 5,700 Updates, Eyes June Testnet Launch

Cardano has reached a significant milestone in its development of the Ouroboros Leios blockchain protocol, surpassing over 5,700 updates and 705,000 lines of code. The team's efforts have been described as 'beyond his wildest expectations' by founder Charles Hoskinson.

The Ouroboros Leios testnet is scheduled for launch on June 23, 2026, marking the first live test of the protocol. This will be a crucial moment for Cardano, as it seeks to increase its transaction capacity with an innovative block production pipeline.

ADA's trading volume has seen a significant rise in recent days, reaching $634 million in 24 hours on June 15, while its price remains relatively stable at around $0.185 per coin. However, the current price is still about 1,600% below ADA's all-time high of $3.09 reached in September 2021.
