Centralized Exchanges Emerge as Key Players in Real-World Asset Tokenization

The rapid growth of real-world asset (RWA) tokenization has transformed the landscape of centralized exchanges. With on-chain RWA value exceeding $12 billion in March 2026, exchanges are vying for position as the primary access point for these tokens.

Several platforms have emerged as leaders in this space, offering unique features and advantages to investors. ChangeNOW stands out with its non-custodial, account-free gateway for swapping RWA tokens across over 110 blockchains. This platform enables instant swaps between tokens, regardless of their native blockchain, with transaction minimums starting at $2 and no upper limits.

Other notable platforms include Kraken, which has positioned itself as a pioneer in tokenized equities through its xStocks platform. Binance has also made significant strides, launching an institutional-grade RWA tokenization platform backed by a $500 million pilot program with European banks. Bitpanda is building infrastructure for tokenized assets on its regulated Layer-2 blockchain, Vision Chain. OKX, meanwhile, has secured full MiCA CASP authorization and is developing an RWA-backed stablecoin.
