Risk Appetite Hits 2021 Highs, Bitcoin and Crypto Markets React
Risk appetite among investors has reached its highest point since 2021, marking a significant shift in market sentiment. According to Kalshi, a platform that tracks prediction markets, investor behavior is increasingly leaning towards 'risk-on' strategies.
This trend has historically been beneficial for Bitcoin and other crypto assets, as they are considered high-risk, high-reward investments. When investors become more confident and willing to take on volatility, they often move their capital into riskier assets, such as equities and corporate bonds. This can create a ripple effect, with liquidity and confidence growing in the market.
The data from Kalshi shows that risky asset fund inflows have surpassed safe asset inflows by a record $220 billion over the past four weeks. This is a notable reversal of the trend seen in most of 2025, where safe assets dominated inflows. In fact, the current gap exceeds the roughly $200 billion seen during the 2021 meme stock frenzy, which coincided with a significant crypto bull run.
