Strategy Achieves 100th Bitcoin Purchase Milestone in Ambitious Accumulation Plan
Strategy has marked another milestone in its ambitious bitcoin accumulation plan by completing its 100th purchase transaction. The company acquired 17,994 BTC between March 2 and March 8 for approximately $1.28 billion at an average price of $70,946 per coin.
The acquisition was funded through equity and preferred share sales as part of the company's long-term plan to raise $84 billion through equity offerings and convertible notes by 2027. This purchase brings Strategy's total holdings to 738,731 BTC, representing a significant concentration of Bitcoin's hard-capped supply of 21 million coins.
Strategy now holds approximately 3.4% of Bitcoin's total supply, making it one of the largest corporate holders of the cryptocurrency alongside other notable companies such as MARA Holdings and Coinbase. The company's preferred equity complex offers investors different risk profiles, with instruments like STRD carrying a 10% non-cumulative dividend and STRF targeting more conservative capital.
